Working Model 3D
|
The Standard for Windows Motion
Simulation
Working Model 3D gives engineers the power to successfully
model three-dimensional systems and get meaningful results. Working Model
3D couples modeling, simulation, and analysis in one unified interface that
makes creating and running a simulation easy and fast. Working Model 3D also
enables seamless integration with major CAD applications, forming the basis
for an integrated design and engineering system. With automatic collision
simulation and a robust dynamics simulation engine, Working Model 3D solves
complex design problems where motion and forces are important. Available
for Windows only. |
Simulation Features
-
Automatic Collision Detection and Response
Uses part geometry and material properties to calculate the results of
collisions, impacts, sliding, and bouncing.
-
Statics/Kinematics and Dynamics
Determines the static loads in your model. Calculates position, velocity,
and acceleration data.
Full multi-body dynamics simulation engine handles complex multi-body equations
and returns motion and data.
-
Automatic Calculation Setting
Determines time step and calculation method based upon the complexity of
the model to insure accurate results.
|
Modeling Objects
-
Bodies
Each body has a set of physical properties including mass, coefficient of
restitution, friction, velocity, acceleration, center of mass, and moment
of inertia.
-
Joints
Welds, rigid joints, revolute joints, spherical joints, slot joints, rods,
ropes, separators, springs, and dampers. Properties of joints (e.g. a spring
constant) are user definable by numeric or equation input.
-
Points
Allows the tracking and examination of exact positions with a model.
-
Drivers
Motors, actuators, torques, and forces. Properties for these devices are
user definable by numeric or equation input.
-
Meters and Graphs
Record and display the results of a simulation.
|
Loads and Drivers
-
Point Loads
Joint, motor, actuator, point, spring, and damper.
-
Part Friction/Elasticity
Friction loads between parts are automatically computed based upon part
properties, surface contact forces, and orientations. Restitution loads (e.g.
bounce) are computed based upon part properties, surface contact forces,
and orientations.
-
World Forces (e.g. gravity)
Enable you to customize the simulation world where your model resides.
-
User Defined Loads
Allow you to use conditional equation language to turn forces off and on
and vary part parameters during a simulation.
 |
Measurement Results
-
Joint
Orientation, position, velocity, acceleration, and applied loads.
-
Part
Orientation, position, velocity, acceleration, momentum, angular acceleration,
and applied loads.
-
Units format
SI, English, and user definable units selection.
-
Custom Measurements
You can use math equations to dynamically create your own customized
studies.
-
Real-time Graphs
Display information graphically as the simulation is running. View x,y plots,
numeric data, and curve traces.
-
Export Data
Export all graphs and measurements for hard copy results and use in other
applications.
-

Export simulation sequences to the popular Microsoft (.avi) format for playback
and viewing on other computers, even those without Working Model.
